On behalf of our students and departmental staff, it is my privilege to welcome all of you to the department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering. We take pride in our team of highly capable and dedicated professionals, most of which have academic and industrial experience from prestigious learning institutions and industries. The department has achieved tremendous growth in population from nine (9) to 372 students within a period of two years. This has been due to the quality of the hands-on courses we are offering within the department

Objectives
We provide ample opportunities to our staff and students through classroom lectures, workshops, and training outside of the college for further growth and development in the areas of expertise. We at the Electrical and Electronics Engineering department are committed to the following objectives:

  1. Developing competent and hands-on Electrical & Electronics Technical personnel of high quality capable of facing various challenges within our country and beyond
  2. produce graduates who are proficient in maintaining and improving their technical competence
  3. Train and encourage trainees for personal and professional success with awareness and commitment to their ethical and social responsibilities both as individuals and team
  4. We are committed to creating and electing a professional graduate community which provides continuous learning.

The courses offered in the Department are at Artisan, Craft Certificate, and Diploma levels and are examined by Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC). We are also a registered Centre for the Directorate of Industrial Training Grade III Electrical Wireman and Electrical Fitter examinations.

We have fully embraced the new revised Modular syllabus for both the Certificate and Diploma Courses in Electrical Engineering.

FUTURE DEVELOPMENT PLANS FOR THE DEPARTMENT

To develop the training of renewable energy mainly Photo Voltaic Solar in addition to the mainstream courses specializing in Power option courses that attract the majority of the students.
